
Shawn McKenzie specializes in diagnostic imaging with expertise in department design, workflow process improvement, equipment planning and selection and PACS (Picture Archiving Communication Systems).
Shawn is president of McKenzie Stephenson a consulting firm that has designed a best practice approach and a clinically centered method for the implementation of PACS. Shawn has been director of diagnostic imaging and invasive cardiology at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. He has 22 years experience in healthcare with a focus in diagnostic imaging. He was also chair of the Sutter Health system-wide radiology directors committee, as well as the champion for Sutter Health’s project to install PACS for the 30-hospital system. Previously he served as project lead on a successful imaging operations standardization process across a multi-hospital system. He also successfully developed and implemented a functional plan and project management strategy for the relocation of all imaging services to a new hospital, as well as designed a new department layout including readiness for new technology including PACS.
Shawn received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Davis and his MPA from California State University at Hayward. He is adjunct professor at Sierra College in Political Science. Shawn is a certified radiology administrator.
