Phil Bosco, MD specializes in trauma surgery, critical care and in the development and operation of trauma services in community hospitals and regional trauma systems.

Phil is medical director of trauma services at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, a Level II trauma center. Previously, he held positions of director and associate director of two other trauma centers in California (Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center and Mercy Mount Shasta Hospital). Phil has provided physician leadership for the successful designation of two community hospital trauma centers (a Level II trauma center and a Level III trauma center) and the re-designation of a third (a Level I trauma center). He is also president of a multi-specialty trauma medical group. He has published and presented educational programs on a wide range of topics in trauma, critical care and general surgery.


Phil received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of California, Irvine. He completed his residency in surgery at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center and completed fellowships in Trauma and Critical Care. Phil has been a Clinical Attending faculty member at Harbor/UCLA and he is an ATLS Instructor. Phil is Board-certified in Surgery with Added Qualification in Surgical Critical Care and is also a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
